Hemorrhoid Types

Grade 1

These internal hemorrhoids occasionally bleed, but don’t extend outside of the rectum.

Grade 2

At this level, hemorrhoids may prolapse or extend out of the anus.

Grade 3

Level 3 hemorrhoids usually bleed and cause pain. They may prolapse when put under strain.

Grade 4

These cause pain, bleeding, discharge, and possible tissue damage.
